OUR FIELDS OF ACTION

Prevention workshops

We organize prevention workshops in schools to educate children about the risks and consequences of domestic accidents.

From pre-school to high school, we have designed different presentations and games to help to identify dangerous situations at home to prevent accidents. In each workshop, we explain and practice the gestures to perform in case of a burn.

We support the surviving children to come back at schools by assisting their reintegration with classmates and teachers through the workshops, we promote empathy for all those who have suffered accidents, and we share our story as an example of resilience.

We also hold conferences and prevention talks for adults, either in companies or in forums interested in burn prevention.

Social media campaigns

We educate the public about the dangers of burn accidents, we work on prevention through short messages and videos every week on Facebook and Instagram. We use our YouTube channel to spread the videos on prevention and the skin recovery process.

The association supports child burn survivors who, like Ana María, want to share their story, showing their strength and resilience. These beautiful real-life stories show us how each one has managed to overcome obstacles and give hope to many families who are beginning this long process.

Write to us at info@assolittlesuperheroes.com if you want to share your story .

Arantza

Hello, I'm Arantza, I live in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, I suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 38% of my body as a result of a domestic accident. A short circuit caused the explosion of the television while I was watching TV. I spent 2 months in the ICU at JM de Los Rios Hospital, and I needed a skin graft in my face and hands. This accident will not make me give up because I am strong and brave! "

Little Superheroes has collaborated in the recovery process of Aranzta in 2019 they performed reconstructive surgery for the mobility of her hands, she continues to advance with her beautiful smile .

Cassandra

"Hello, I'm Cassandra, on November 8, 2002, I wanted to eat french fries, like all the kids, I loved them! I'm going to the kitchen, the fryer already had time to heat up, at the age of 10 months, I pulled the cable from the electric fryer and spilled the hot oil on me. I suffered third-degree burns in 80% of my body. I was transferred directly to the hospital, doctors gave me a cardiac massage, tried to resuscitate me more than once, then I fell into a coma for 2 long months. I was between life and death, when I woke up I had my whole body covered in bandages. The first operation was an expander (balloon) that is placed between my flesh and the skin, on my back, and for 3 months it was inflated once a week at the rehabilitation center, this is done to have a larger surface of healthy skin and to be able to cover a part of my burned body. For the following operations, it was the same process each time. After spending a few months in the hospital, I was transferred to the rehabilitation center in Miribel, where I spent another 7-8 months. Today I am 17 years old, I have been to the hospital several times and then to the rehabilitation center " .

Louma

“Hello, my name is Louma, I'm 12 years old. I was 10 months old and I was in my walker when I burned in third grade with a tea kettle. I spent 2 months at the HUG in Geneva (17 general anesthesia) and after 6 months my parents found the Center Romans Ferrari center in France. Dr. Guillot has treated me during all my growth. At age 9 I had my first repair surgery, and at age 10 I had skin grafts on the leg and left side of the torso. I still need surgery with skin grafts by May 2020. Life is beautiful thanks to all the people around me!”
